Our Programs
Tennis and swimming first, both lifelong sports.
Four more that earn their place.
A place in any of our programs covers instruction, court and pool time, and equipment where a family needs it.
Why tennis
Tennis is a sport a person can play at eight and at eighty. It teaches a child to solve problems alone, on the clock, with nobody to pass to - and to lose without falling apart. A child who learns it well has a route into high school and college competition. A child who simply learns it has something to do for the rest of their life.
Why swimming
Swimming is not enrichment. A child who cannot swim is in danger every time they are near water, and on this coast that is often. We teach children to swim, to swim safely, and to help someone who cannot. Everything after that - the strength, the confidence, the competitive lane - is a bonus on top of a skill that keeps them alive.
The tennis ladder
Four stages, by age and ball speed - from a first swing to competitive play.
- Mini-Aces · Ages 4-6 · Red ball - First contact with a racket - big ball, slow bounce, short court.
- Rising Stars · Ages 7-9 · Orange ball - Rallying, scoring, and the first real matches.
- Junior Champs · Ages 10-12 · Green ball - Full court, developing strokes, structured competition.
- Performance Academy · Ages 10-18 · Yellow ball - Standard play, tournament preparation, a path to high school and college tennis.
Swimming and water safety
- Learn to swim For children with no water experience at all. Independence in the water is the only goal.
- Swim safely Distance, endurance and judgment - plus lifesaving and water-safety instruction.
- Developmental and competitive For swimmers ready to train and race, on the same progression as our tennis ladder.
And four more
- Water safety - Every child safe in water.
- Pickleball - The fastest way onto a court.
- Fitness - Strength is a habit, not a gift.
- Education and academics - Money skills and schoolwork, alongside the sport.
Our older students take financial education and academic help alongside the sport - reading a statement, understanding interest, keeping a budget, and keeping up with schoolwork. It is part of the same idea: the sport is the door, not the room.
How to get a place
Six-week sessions run through the year. Applications are open to families in Templeton, Paso Robles and Atascadero, they are short, and a person reads every one.
